Sustainable Pricing for the Global South

Priced to be accessible in Nepal and South Asia, while sustainably justified for international learners. Quality that is priced to serve — not to exclude.

🌍

Geographic Pricing Policy. Nepal and South Asia pricing reflects local professional income levels and is our primary market. International pricing (Middle East, GCC, Europe, North America, Southeast Asia) is set at USD 25–30 per module — approximately 40–50% below comparable global CM certification programs (CMAA, PMI, CIOB) while maintaining the same content quality, audit standards, and certificate referencing COS™ Methodology DOIs. This is not a discount. It is a deliberate Global South contribution model: Nepal builds it, the world uses it, everyone pays what is fair.

Module 5: COS™ Full Practitioner (14 credit hours)

The integrated module. Combines all three pillars into full project governance application. Learners score a real or hypothetical project against the three-pillar system and produce a COS™ Assessment Report. Minimum 14 hours study. 40-question exam plus a short project scoring exercise. Passing earns the COS™ Full Practitioner Certificate — the professional credential that qualifies you to conduct independent COS™ audits.

4 weeks study + project · NPR 10,000 / USD 85

Module 6: COS™ Research Scholar (15 credit hours)

The research module. Requires submission of an original case study document — a real project where you applied COS™ or can retrospectively apply it — following the format: Problem Statement, COS™ Application (all three pillars), Outcome with pillar scores. The case study is reviewed by Susil Bhandari, CCM. On acceptance, it is co-published on Zenodo under your name with a permanent DOI. This is your first formally published academic contribution. Passing earns the COS™ Research Scholar Certificate — the credential required before submitting a original research proposal.

From COS™ Practitioner to PhD

A complete, honest, standards-compliant research pathway. Duration 4–6 years. Based on verified requirements of Tribhuvan University IoE and international construction management research programs.

⚠️

COS™ Research Pathway — Open to All Practitioners

All accredited research programs — including Tribhuvan University IoE — require a prior degree as the minimum entry qualification. Your Diploma in Civil Engineering with 22 years of field experience is a strong foundation, but a prior degree (MSc in Construction Management, Project Management, or related field) must be completed first. The COS™ certification pathway builds your research portfolio and publication record while you complete your Master's — so both tracks run in parallel, not sequentially. This is the honest and realistic structure.

Phase 0 — Now · Complete Immediately (Free or Low Cost)

Academic Identity Establishment

Before any formal enrollment, establish your academic identity online. These are free registrations that take less than 2 hours total and make you discoverable to academic supervisors globally.

PhD Research Proposal Submission

With prior degree complete and COS™ Research Scholar Certificate in hand, submit a original research proposal. The research question is already defined by the COS™ methodology:

  • Research question: "Does an ethics-first, integrated governance methodology (COS™) measurably improve compliance, oversight, and sustainability outcomes in infrastructure projects in the Global South?"
  • Evidence base: COS™ white paper (Zenodo DOI), Research Scholar case study, real project pillar scores from advisory engagements
  • Methodology: Mixed methods — quantitative pillar scoring data plus qualitative case study analysis
  • Target institutions: TU IoE Pulchowk (Nepal, primary), or an international institution with a construction governance research group
  • Supervisor target: A faculty member at TU IoE or affiliated university specialising in construction management, governance, or infrastructure development
Target submission: Month 24–30
Phase 4 — Years 3–5 · PhD Research

Active PhD Research — Live COS™ Data Collection

This is where COS™ Academy becomes the research instrument. Every project engagement, every course cohort, and every certificate issued generates data for the original research:

  • Quantitative data: COS™ pillar scores from real infrastructure projects (pre-COS™ vs post-COS™ application)
  • Survey data: COS™ certified practitioners' self-reported governance outcomes
  • Comparative data: NCR closure rates, audit pass rates, sustainability metric achievement on COS™ vs non-COS™ projects
  • Academic publications: Target minimum 2 peer-reviewed journal articles during PhD, published in construction management journals (Engineering, Construction and Architectural Management; International Journal of Project Management)
  • Conference presentations: CMAA Annual Conference, CIB World Building Congress, RICS annual summit
Duration: 2–3 years (TU IoE part-time: up to 5 years permitted)
Phase 5 — Year 5–6 · Submission and Defence

Thesis Submission and Defence

Submit the research thesis. The thesis structure follows standard TU IoE and international requirements:

  • Chapter 1: Introduction — the governance fragmentation problem in the Global South
  • Chapter 2: Literature review — comparison of COS™ with Lean, Agile, SMART, CSR/ESG (already in white paper)
  • Chapter 3: Methodology — COS™ as research instrument and research method
  • Chapter 4: Data analysis — pillar scores, case studies, practitioner survey results
  • Chapter 5: Findings — measurable impact of COS™ on infrastructure governance outcomes
  • Chapter 6: Conclusion and contributions to knowledge
  • Minimum requirement (TU IoE): One peer-reviewed publication before thesis submission
  • Viva voce (oral defence) before an examination committee including an external examiner
Duration: 6–12 months thesis writing + defence

Ethics First.
Always.

COS™ Academy never claims that our certificates are equivalent to degrees, or that completing our program guarantees research advancement. Every learner deserves honest information about what our credentials represent, what they do not replace, and what the realistic pathway to higher academic recognition looks like. We price sustainably, teach honestly, and measure everything. The methodology demands no less of us than it demands of the projects it governs.

Geographic Pricing Justification

  • Nepal pricing (NPR 2,500 / Module 1) reflects the median daily wage of a qualified civil engineer in Nepal at approximately NPR 2,000–3,000
  • International pricing (USD 25 / Module 1) reflects approximately 40–50% below comparable global CM certifications (CMAA CCM prep: USD 200+; PMI CAPM: USD 150+)
  • The price differential is not a quality differential — it is a deliberate Global South contribution model
  • Research Scholar pricing (NPR 18,000 / USD 150) reflects 3–4 hours of supervisor review time plus Zenodo publication handling
  • Pricing is reviewed annually. Enrolled learners retain their locked price for the module they enrolled in
